I wish Mastodon had a 'change username' feature. Even if it isn't possible like Twitter's for example, make it like DeviantArt's. Like, if you changed your username, you can't revert to your previous username. And, your previous username will be a redirect to the new username.

@Sys There is a significant difference between Mastodon and DeviantArt (or any other centralized system) to enable this feature, remote servers use the domain name and the username to identify a single account. DeviantArt knows that the new username still is yourself because it allowed the username change in the first place. By default, Mastodon and other remote servers will treat a different username as a completely different account.
I'm currently comfortable with my current one. I just wish it was avaliable sooner.
