Saaste<p>Koska ostin Netflixin kuukaudeksi katsoakseni Arcanen, päätin hyödyntää tilaisuuden ja katsoin toisenkin sarjan, josta olin kuullut hyvää: Blue Eye Samurai.</p><p>Ja voi pojat ja tytöt, että olikin hyvä! Hieno tarina upeilla hahmoilla! Kun päälle lisää sen, että sarja on visuaalisesti herkullista katsottavaa, niin kylläpä vaan meikämandoliini viihtyi hyvin.</p><p>Varoitus kuitenkin siitä, että vaikka kyseessä onkin animaatio, se on brutaali, väkivaltainen ja pullollaan seksiä, joka koettelee rajoja. Przemyślenia Maniaka<p>[EN] I’ve finally watched “Blue Eye Samurai”. I’ll admit, I was a bit turned off by its use of Western culture codes instead of the Eastern ones in some places; a few historical inaccuracies (take firearms — the Japanese had known and used them even before the times this story is supposed to be set in) and the improbable strength and the improbable durability of katanas (they were — contrary to popular belief — backup weapons and would lose their sharpness quite quickly if they had been used the way they were in this story). But then again, I always treat historical settings more as a decoration than anything else. It’s great when the creators do their homework, but, ultimately, it’s the story that counts. The story, which I expect to have a universal meaning. This one may not be too innovative when it comes to the overall message, but, despite this, it’s still a fascinating series about honour, betrayal, loss and the destructive force of revenge. All in all, it’s gripping, beautifully made and very good (except for episode six — episode six does not exist). I’m really curious about the characters’ further story and I’m eagerly waiting for the second season, which has just been announced. Przemyślenia Maniaka<p>Obejrzałem wreszcie „Niebieskookiego Samuraja”. Trochę kręciłem nosem na zbyt wiele zachodnich kodów kulturowych, głupotki historyczne (jak choćby na tę z bronią palną — Japończycy ją znali i chętnie z niej korzystali jeszcze przed okresem, w którym dzieje się akcja serialu) i niesamowitą wytrzymałość katan (one — wbrew temu, co się utarło — były jednak bronią pomocniczą i na pewno nie zachowałyby ostrości po zaszlachtowaniu tyłu przeciwników, co w serialu). No ale ja zawsze wychodzę też z założenia, że historyczne dekoracje są w tego typu produkcjach właśnie tym: dekoracjami. Fajnie, jeśli ktoś się do nich przyłoży, ale ostatecznie liczy się sama opowieść, od której oczekuję uniwersalnego wymiaru. Przesłanie tej być może nie jest jakoś szczególnie nowatorskie ani odkrywcze, ale mimo wszystko to ciekawy serial o honorze, zdradzie, stracie i niszczącej sile zemsty. Ostatecznie więc jest to rzecz wciągająca, pięknie zrealizowana i bardzo dobra (poza odcinkiem szóstym — odcinek szósty nie istnieje). Jestem ciekaw, jaki będzie ciąg dalszy losów bohaterów i czekam na świeżo zapowiedziany sezon drugi.
