Michelle / The Giddy StitcherA couple of days ago I found a random crochet act of kindness in the form of this little rhinoceros friend left hanging from a bush.Thought about taking him home, but decided to leave it since it was just round the corner from a primary school and would make some kid's day.Today I was rewarded! AstaHi! I'm migrating my posts from one instance to another, sorry if you're seeing this one again! Old makes continued! I made the Coral mermaid by La Crocheteria, but changed the hair so it would look like my niece whom I made it for. 😊 She got to pick the hair colour! I made the hair with instructions from a book by Khuc Cay. There were a few mistakes along the way, such as using a different weight of yarn for the tail and scales, which meant that the finished doll didn't come out quite right. However this is my first human amigurumi and maybe only the second in total, so I would say the end result isn't too bad! Niece seemed to like it and that's what matters the most. BeeCyclingThe granny squares are complete! 40 each of blue and cream and lilac and cream in chunky yarn. I'm going to join them together and do a border with the blue, to make a grid effect. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning everyone 🌻 I had another long lie today, courtesy of Grant who has headed out early birding. I'm currently sitting with the parrots having my first coffee of the day and watching "Jurassic Park" on the grass outside as the wild birds come down to feed on the mealworms Grant scattered earlier. Every now and then, when Toby notices a bird zooming down we get a "Wow!" from him 😂 Otherwise the only sounds from the parrots are Ziggy grumbling away under her preening arch and Jadie fighting with her toys. Classic FM Calm is on in the background and all is well...calm 😊I'm definitely starting to feel more normal now, so we're going to go out later to see if we can get Grant a gaming monitor, and I'll see how that goes. TanjaOh, I almost forgot about this beauty! I used 2 Yarncakes and alternated them; I ended up using about 1824 m yarn. It's a pattern by a polish designer, essentially it's just charts and I was so proud that I managed to make it. Being able to read crochet charts opens up a whole new world beyond language barriers.
