They seem to think that by doing this Trump's #FCC will leave them alone. Honestly I could think they could talk about nothing but the weather every night (and they already spend a lot of time on that every night) and their days are still numbered because Trump carries grudges.

Oh, and the big travel story of the last week? Some unfortunate young lady who went to one of the Caribbean islands and met some guy and they two of them got drunk and went for a swim and almost drowned, then he passed out on the beach and she hasn't been seen since, so they are assuming she went back in the ocean and drowned (or maybe became shark food). While very tragic, especially for her family, it's pretty much a nothingburger as stories go - drunk people drown in the ocean all the time and normally they get a few paragraphs in the local newspaper and that's it. But somehow this is the big national story of the last week or so, taking precedence over all the evil things Trump and his sycophants are doing.

When historians report on this time, I hope they understand that the reason more US citizens didn't rise up against this #coup is because they genuinely didn't realize what was happening, because they either only got their news from biased right-wing sources (including formerly centrist media that has been taken over by very rich people who support Trump), or from media too cowardly to do their jobs, thinking that will save them from being shipped off to a Venezuelan camp.
