Perdidos En El Éter<p>SIGUEN LOS PREMIOS: Los <a href="https://c.im/tags/EmmyAwards" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EmmyAwards</span></a> 2024 se entregarán el 15 de setiembre, y ya están los nominados. Netflix encabeza el podio otra vez, con 107, seguida por FX con 91 (pero hay al menos ocho más de otras ramas de Disney), y HBO con 91. En las nominaciones "de género", Fallout se lleva la mayoría, con 17.</p><p>Entre las categorías en las que está nominada la adaptacion del videojuego están Serie Dramática, Actor Dramático (Walton Goggins), Guión Dramático, Efectos Visuales, Maquillaje Prostético y No Prostético, y varias de Dobles de Acción y de Sonido y Música.</p><p>What We Do in the Shadows tiene cinco nomiaciones, con Actor de Comedia (Matt Berry) y Diseño de Producción, ademas de Vestuario de Fantasía/Sci-Fi, Mezcla de Sonido, y Coordinacion de Dobles en Comedia. Perdidos En El Éter<p>EMI Y SUS AMIGOS: Se entregaron en días pasados los <a href="https://c.im/tags/EmmyAwards" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EmmyAwards</span></a>, en varias subdivisiones. Andor, Kenobi, y The Last Of Us (entre otras series fantásticas) tenían varias nominaciones en los "premios mayores" (Primetime), pero no ganaron ninguna estatuilla.</p><p>En los Creative Arts Emmy, sin embargo, la historia fue otra. Esta división incluye más que nada categorías de efectos, sonido, maquillaje, y vestuario, pero también algunas de actuación</p><p>The Last Of Us se llevó ocho premios (Maquillaje Prostético, Efectos Visuales, Secuencia de Títulos, Edición de Sonido, Mezcla de Sonido, Edición Cinematográfica, Actriz Invitada, Actor Invitado).</p><p>Cuatro fueron para Wednesday (Vestuario Contemporáneo, Maquillaje Contemporáneo no Prostético, Diseño de Producción Contemporáneo, Tema Musical Central).</p><p>Hubo premios también para The Boys (Coordinación de Dobles), The Mandalorian (Performance de Dobles), Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities (Diseño de Producción de Época o Fantasía), Ms. Marvel (Motion Graphics)], Prey (Edición de Sonido), y Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (Composición Musical, y Mejor Película de TV).</p><p>En diciembre ya se habían entregado los Children and Family Emmy, con Marvel siendo la gran ganadora, sobre todo con sus producciones de ánimación, pero también con el live action en The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.</p><p>Como hemos comentado antes, la división de categorías es extraña, porque consideran Sweet Tooth como programa "Preescolar, Infantil, o Jovenes Adolescentes"), pero Ms. Marvel compite en los Emmy "de adultos"; mientras que el especial de Guardians compite en estos.</p><p>Todo se reduce a que categoría presentan cada cosa las productoras (según piensan donde tienen mejor chance), pero la organización tampoco parece poner mucho empeño en controlar.</p><p>Volviendo a los Emmy de "la mesa de los niños", el especial de Guardians ganó tres premios (Especial de Ficción, Vestuario, y Peinado/Maquillaje), y I Am Groot se llevó dos (Programa Corto, y Mezcla/Edición de Sonido en Animación), igual que Baymax! (Edición en Animación, y Guión en Animación Infantil/Adolescentes Jóvenes).</p><p>La gran ganadora de Disney fue Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, con seis premios (Especial Animado, Logro Individual en Animación, Dirección de Voces, Secuencia de Títulos, y Casting en Animación).</p><p>Sweet Tooth ganó dos (Fotografía en Live Action, y Actuación de Reparto para Preescolares/Niños/Adolescentes Jóvenes), al igual que Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures (Edición en Animación Preescolar, Mezcla/Edición de Sonido en Animación Preescolar).</p><p>Otros premiados fueron The Muppets Mayhem (Serie para Niños / Familia), Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Logro Individual en Animación) y Pinecone & Pony (Voz Joven en Programa Preescolar/Infantil/Adolescentes Jóvenes). Keith Daggett<p>Happy birthday to singer-songwriter, arranger, composer, and pianist Randy Newman who was born on this date November 28, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA.</p><p>Born into to an extended family of Hollywood film composers, (uncles Alfred Newman, Lionel Newman and Emil Newman) he began his songwriting career at the age of 17, penning hits for acts such as the Fleetwoods, Cilla Black, Gene Pitney, and the Alan Price Set. </p><p> In 1968, he made his formal debut as a solo artist with the album Randy Newman, produced by Lenny Waronker and Van Dyke Parks. Four of Newman's non-soundtrack albums have charted in the US top 40: "Sail Away" (1972), "Good Old Boys" (1974), "Little Criminals" (1977), and "Harps and Angels" (2008).</p><p>His best-known songs as a recording artist are "Short People" (1977), "I Love L.A." (1983), and "You've Got a Friend in Me" (1995), while other artists have enjoyed more success with cover versions of his "Mama Told Me Not to Come" (1966), "I Think It's Going to Rain Today" (1968) and "You Can Leave Your Hat On" (1972).</p><p>Since the 1980s, Newman has worked mostly as a film composer. He has scored nine Disney-Pixar animated films, including all four "Toy Story" films (1995–2019), "A Bug's Life" (1998), both "Monsters, Inc." films (2001, 2013), and the first and third "Cars" films (2006, 2017), as well as Disney's "James and the Giant Peach" (1996) and "The Princess and the Frog" (2009).</p><p>. His other film scores include "Cold Turkey" (1971), "Ragtime" (1981), "The Natural" (1984), "Awakenings" (1990), "Pleasantville" (1998), "Meet the Parents" (2000), "Seabiscuit" (2003), and "Marriage Story" (2019).</p><p>Newman has received twenty-two Academy Award nominations in the Best Original Score and Best Original Song categories and has won twice in the latter category, contributing to the Newmans being the most nominated Academy Award extended family, with a collective 92 nominations in various music categories.</p><p> He has also won three Emmys, seven Grammy Awards and the Governor's Award from the Recording Academy. In 2007, he was recognized by the Walt Disney Company as a Disney Legend.
