Today I checked the same author and the GPT was highly in favour of them even after the controversies surrounding them. This happens across all GPT, not only chat or perplexity. ConnectionWithWonderGas mantles get very hot. There are still British Gas employees whose job it is to light Londons remaining 200-odd working gas lamps. This would have been done each night by one of Glasgow's army of leeries or lamplighters. This Is My GlasgowA former gas lamp (now converted to an electric one) on North Gate to Victoria Park in the west of Glasgow. It's one of a pair created, along with the rest of the gate, in 1887, by Walter MacFarlane's Saracen Foundry. You can tell it was originally a gas lamp because it has an open base and a vented cap at the top (needed to allow oxygen in to feed the flame).
