Annabanana<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/@CaroltheCrone" class="u-url mention">@<span>CaroltheCrone</span></a></span> I've been watching <a href="https://c.im/tags/ThreePines" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ThreePines</span></a> & I'm a fan of the <a href="https://c.im/tags/LouisePenny" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LouisePenny</span></a> books (I just read <a href="https://c.im/tags/AWordOfCurosities" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AWordOfCurosities</span></a>). </p><p>Generally I think Three Pines is quite good although I have some minor quibbles. (The first two stories felt rushed although the last story didn't and I think has been the best one so far. I've also thought Peter & Clara's casting is too young, Jean Guy is cast too old and he should be speaking French only). However I realize that TV/movies are a very different medium than books and every adaptation of a book will have changes. </p><p>I really like <a href="https://c.im/tags/AlfredMolina" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AlfredMolina</span></a> as <a href="https://c.im/tags/InspectorGamache" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>InspectorGamache</span></a>, he captures <a href="https://c.im/tags/Gamache" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Gamache</span></a> 's compassion and thoughtfulness. I like the indigenous story arc (original to the show) as it is well written and acted. </p><p>Overall, I think it's a good adaptation for both those who've read the books and those who haven't. (My husband hasn't read the books and he is enjoying it as well.)</p>
