❗️#Norway police has detained a #Norwegian-owned ship with a #Russian crew, suspected of its involvement in cable sabotage. This was done due to a court request from #Latvian authorities - #Dagbladet

The #Silver_Dania ship, sailing between #St_Petersburg and #Murmansk, is suspected to have caused damage to the fibre cable in the #Baltic_Sea between #Latvia and #Sweden

The shipowner denied accusations. The crew and the shipping company are cooperating with #Norwegian authorities.

◾️ #Latvian Defence Forces reported identifying a vessel that could potentially be responsible for the damage. #Latvian Navy sent out a patrol vessel to inspect the ship.

◾️ #Latvian Navy Commander: The bulk carrier #Michalis_San was headed for #Russia and was waiting tor clearance from its agent to continue its route. No suspicious activity or damage to the anchor was detected on the vessel.
