David Rider ✅<p>I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC from <a href="https://c.im/tags/MadCaveStudios" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MadCaveStudios</span></a> for <a href="https://c.im/tags/BuriedLongLongAgo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BuriedLongLongAgo</span></a>. The first issue is exactly what I want from a horror <a href="https://c.im/tags/comic" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>comic</span></a>. Here’s the description:</p><p>“Based on true events, from 1901-1908 Belle Gunness lured dozens of lonely men to her Indiana farm and savagely murdered them for their money. Because Belle managed to avoid capture and face trial, much of this story remains untold…”</p><p>I tore through this issue. It was as riveting to me as other fan-favorite graphic novels like From Hell and Torso that are based on real serial killers. <a href="https://c.im/tags/AnthonyCleveland" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AnthonyCleveland</span></a> weaves a truly creepy yarn. What makes his approach all the more chilling: he tells it through the POV of Belle’s children. The art by <a href="https://c.im/tags/AlexCormack" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AlexCormack</span></a> is among the best work I’ve seen all year. (No wise guy, not just the first three weeks of 2025—I’m talking about for the past rolling twelve months.) <a href="https://c.im/tags/JustinBirch" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JustinBirch</span></a>’s lettering ties it all together perfectly. The Mad Cave scream team takes you on a gruesome journey not to be missed.</p><p>Buried Long, Long Ago #1 is coming April 16, 2025. Remember to reach out to your LCS to order this series.
