Travis Briggs<p>Apparently Faircamp 1.2 was released last month, with support for track level metadata!</p><p><a href="https://codeberg.org/simonrepp/faircamp/src/branch/main/CHANGELOG.md" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">codeberg.org/simonrepp/faircam</span><span class="invisible">p/src/branch/main/CHANGELOG.md</span></a></p><p>That's my cue to start working on a version of Rainfall (<a href="https://rainfall.dev" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">rainfall.dev</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>) that allows you to edit track metadata before generating your site.</p><p>Stay tuned!</p><p>cc: <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://post.lurk.org/@freebliss" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>freebliss</span></a></span> </p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Rainfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Rainfall</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/RainfallDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RainfallDev</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Faircamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Faircamp</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Bandcamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bandcamp</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/exodus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>exodus</span></a></p>
Travis Briggs<p>I installed matomo on <a href="https://rainfall.dev" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">rainfall.dev</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>, and it looks like I'm getting about 1-3 website hits per week. </p><p>Surely there must be more artists, musicians and bands out there that want to create a Faircamp website? </p><p>Maybe there is some critical bug or problem that I don't know about? If you've tried the site, I appreciate any and all feedback. </p><p>I definitely had fun building it, but I also put an awful lot of work into making it professional, bug free, and easy to use. Would love for more people to check it out!</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/rainfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rainfall</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/RainfallDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RainfallDev</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/bandcamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bandcamp</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/faircamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>faircamp</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/exodus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>exodus</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/tool" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tool</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/foss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>foss</span></a></p>

Travis Briggs<p>Rainfall v1.5 is released! (<a href="https://rainfall.dev" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">rainfall.dev</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>)</p><p>Rainfall is a Bandcamp exodus tool that lets you upload your music and create a static site using the lovely Faircamp (<a href="https://simonrepp.com/faircamp/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">simonrepp.com/faircamp/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>). You can download this site as a ZIP and host it anywhere on the web, or host it on Netlify with a few clicks.</p><p>This is a very behind-the-scenes update. For the technically minded, I've moved from sqlite -&gt; hosted MariaDB, moved to Minio object storage for storing all song files (local volume is now only used for staging faircamp builds), and implemented Celery for background processing of preview generation (because with the Minio changes, it was taking too long).</p><p>You can read some of the rationale behind why I built this here: <a href="https://travisbriggs.com/garden/bandcamp/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">travisbriggs.com/garden/bandca</span><span class="invisible">mp/</span></a></p><p>The GitHub repo is here: <a href="https://github.com/audiodude/rainfall" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/audiodude/rainfall</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>All feedback is welcome!</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/bandcamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bandcamp</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/exodus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>exodus</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/alternative" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>alternative</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/foss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>foss</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/artists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>artists</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/faircamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>faircamp</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Rainfall" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Rainfall</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/RainfallDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RainfallDev</span></a></p>
