Annabanana<p>Watching <a href="https://c.im/tags/Stonehouse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Stonehouse</span></a> today my husband &amp; I were intrigued by the scenes in the <a href="https://c.im/tags/British" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>British</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/HouseOfCommons" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HouseOfCommons</span></a>. We found ourselves comparing it with the <a href="https://c.im/tags/Canadian" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Canadian</span></a> one (ours is based on theirs). We noticed is how crowded the <a href="https://c.im/tags/UK" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>UK</span></a> MPs are compared to their Canadian counterparts and that they literally sit on benches (origin of term &quot;back bencher&quot;) &amp; have to hold papers in their laps. In <a href="https://c.im/tags/Canada" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Canada</span></a> our MPs sit on chairs in front of shallow tables. (2 MPs at each table.) There are 650 in the British House of Commons whereas there are only 338 in the Canadian House of Commons. As well, the <a href="https://c.im/tags/SpeakerOfTheHouse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SpeakerOfTheHouse</span></a> in the UK wears a wig whereas ours does not. (Canadian judges &amp; lawyers don&#39;t wear wigs either but unlike American lawyers &amp; like <a href="https://c.im/tags/UK" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>UK</span></a> barristers, they also wear do black robes.) It&#39;s based on a true story about a British cabinet minister who faked his own death. It&#39;s done with a light touch and is rather funny in parts. Very good performances from <a href="https://c.im/tags/MatthewMacfayden" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MatthewMacfayden</span></a>, <a href="https://c.im/tags/KeeleyHawes" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>KeeleyHawes</span></a> and <a href="https://c.im/tags/KevinMcNally" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>KevinMcNally</span></a>.</p>
