Ned Hairston :hehim: :theythem:<p>Please consider supporting my translation work. It's free (libre), released under a cc-by 4.0 license, and can help reduce radicalization, because while Christian Nationalists don't listen to reason, they do (supposedly) read the Bible. A properly translated Bible is much more difficult to weaponize, which is why they tend to cluster around the ESV and CSB.<br>Even so, all translations currently being published have the stated goal of aligning the Bible to certain dogmas.<br>I fully intend to let the Bible speak for itself, without censorship. I have always held that, "where the Bible speaks, we speak, where it is silent, we are silent;" add to that, where it is vague, weird, or even self-contradicting.</p><p>:blobcoffeeraccoon: <a href="https://ko-fi.com/wltbible" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">ko-fi.com/wltbible</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Bible" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bible</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Scripture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Scripture</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Translation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Translation</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Christian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Christian</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Christianity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Christianity</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Church" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Church</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/ProgressiveChristianity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProgressiveChristianity</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Judaism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Judaism</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Jewish" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jewish</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Tanakh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tanakh</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Tanach" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tanach</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Torah" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Torah</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/CreativeCommons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CreativeCommons</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FOSS</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/FLOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FLOSS</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQIA2S" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQIA2S</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQIA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQIA</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBTQ" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBTQ</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LGBT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LGBT</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Transgender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Transgender</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Agender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Agender</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Nonbinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nonbinary</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Furry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Furry</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/FurryArt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FurryArt</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/FurryFandom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FurryFandom</span></a></p>

Ned Hairston :hehim: :theythem:<p>"Everyone has two wolves fighting inside them and the one that wins is the one you feed." -Modern proverb</p><p>If you are as tired as I am of Evangelical Christian Nationalists perverting the scriptures to spread fascism, then it isn't enough to denounce them. Ned Hairston :hehim: :theythem:<p>Please help me descend to the depths of nerdery. At least Biblical nerdery. I'm writing a translation of the Bible and trying to crowdfund this to make it my job for the next few years to translate the Bible. </p><p>I think we can all agree that among biblical translators there are far too few furry, nonbinary, tabletop gamers and far too much bias. </p><p>This translation will be released for free under a CC-BY 4.0 license when it is finished. (It's not like Zondervan or Nelson is going to be interested in an *unbiased* translation anyway.) You can use it for sermons or bible studies without limit, fill it with notes, share it with friends, or even change the parts you don't like. Ned Hairston :hehim: :theythem:<p>Please consider supporting my translation of the Bible. It may very well be the first translation by a trans translator (is that a pun? no regrets). </p><p>But more importantly, it is a translation that does not seek to impose a theology on the Bible, but read it with an open heart and open mind to what the scripture really means when we listen to the Spirit of Truth instead of letting publishers write over the Word out of a profit motive (Jeremiah 8:8).</p><p>I long ago came to realize that I do not stand condemned before God because of a close reading of the scripture. Miriam Anzovin<p>Shalom, friends! Welcome to “A Woman in An Act of Desperate Creativity: Chana’s Prayer Deep Dive with Ammud Rabbinic Intern Sass Brown.” In this chevruta session, Sass and I learn from the story of the prophet Chana as told in the Tanach, and the Talmud, to discover how Jewish prayer was shaped and defined by a woman. We also find some modern takeaways from Chana’s bold actions. </p><p>About Ammud: Ammud exists to empower Jews of Color by providing community and personalized support to gather and learn, unchallenged in their Jewishness. They provide access to the Jewish education needed to be empowered members and leaders of the broader Jewish community, creating space to celebrate marginalized customs and traditions and (re)build culture.</p><p>Sefaria sourcesheet for this episode is at the link in bio!<br><a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/jewishlearning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jewishlearning</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/tanach" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tanach</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/torah" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>torah</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://youtube.com/watch?v=aNA7DRsdGK8&amp;si=OTmdRn-jz0yU6NOn" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=aNA7DRsdGK</span><span class="invisible">8&amp;si=OTmdRn-jz0yU6NOn</span></a></p>

Yeshaya<p>Beshalach: crossing into the world of <a href="https://dybbuk.club/tags/torah" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Torah</span></a><br><br>Our rabbi talked today about some parallels between the creation story in Bereishis and the crossing of the Sea of Reeds by the Israelites. He was saying that the parallel is because the Exodus was not just a normal event, but it was set up for us as a transition into a totally new paradigm, a new universe so to speak. I sent him this after Shabbos, lightly edited:<br><br>I really really liked your derasha today, and here is what I think the difference is: The power of a man over other people. Egypt was the greatest empire in the world at the time, the greatest center of authoritarian power the world had ever known back then. Pharaoh had the power to force people to call him a god. As a Trump supporter said to me, a true absolute ruler has the power of life and death over his subjects (although it's actually just the power to destroy, the power of death). Pharaoh can say: do what I say or I'll kill you. I'll blow you up, I'll blow up your family, I'll blow up your neighborhood, I'll blow up your city...<br><br>When Bnei Yisroel cross the sea, they leave the world of authoritarian coercive power into the world of Torah, where Borei Oilom¹ reveals His true power to us: the power to create, create a whole universe, full of light and life. That power is infinitely greater than the power of a tyrant even though he should call himself a god all day long. And while we are encouraged to fear Hashem, the greatest virtue is to serve Hashem because we recognize the greatness of this power, next to which Pharaoh's type of power is so puny that it doesn't even exist.<br><br>¹Creator of the Universe<br><br><a href="https://dybbuk.club/tags/anarchism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>anarchism</span></a></p>
