Carolannie<p>Yellowstone NP, Wyoming--May 2016--Looking down at the Artists' Paintpots<br />It really is difficult to get a feeling for the complexity of the colors and the noxious fumes blowing in your face and the amazing plants which tenaciously grow in and alongside the seething wetlands. You can see where the plants started and did well for a while and then became victims of the changing patterns of geothermal activity. Mosses and lichen seem to do well in this area though.
