Rebecca BannerHaving used my down time whilst feeling poorly to make some more videos, I have also actually managed to upload one to YouTube (and hopefully about to schedule some of the others!) This is one in a series of <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/bellringing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bellringing</a> videos recording the bells of <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/leicestershire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#leicestershire</a>. Rebecca BannerBeen under the weather with what erupted in full last night as a sore throat, so taking it easy today instead of going shopping. Not too mentally tired, so I got on with sorting out various audio, video and image files so I've got the raw materials ready for more Bells of <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Leicestershire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Leicestershire</a> videos. I even created one of the simpler finished videos (only still pictures of this tower, no video). I might even get it up on youtube soon! Rebecca BannerIn the middle of tidying up my hard drive to clear space I came across this video I made five years ago. Its a musical interpretation of a <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/bellringing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bellringing</a> method called Plain Bob Minor. As well as the notes the bells would be sounding, I added in extra harmonics and notes for emphasis, and wrapped it up in a synth sound and added a basic visualiser. Lovely weather all day, good pub lunch, and a chance to ring at the most northerly tower in Leicestershire.

Real Syntacticin 1/2 hour I will head out to the bell tower to join the band in ringing for mass, my first time ringing anything other than practice sessions. I have been ringing since September; subtract two weeks lost in October and three in December and I have been ringing for almost five months. No, I’m not Christian; change ringing is a musical instrument, a sport of sorts, a maths exercise and a social space. Rebecca BannerI was at a <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/bellringing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bellringing</a> conference at the weekend and got the chance to ring at York Minster! This bell weighs 3 tons, and is twice the weight of a bell I ring regularly, and my heaviest bell to ring so far.

JamesPleased with my <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/bellringing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bellringing</a> efforts today. After an unsuccessful quarter peal attempt last month (my first) we attempted the same today with the same band and successfully rang a 1260 Plain Bob Doubles with no false starts. It was not only my first successful quarter peal but I was also ringing inside. <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/lookto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#lookto</a>
