Amsterdam_XXXThe white building on the left is the facade of the third oldest bar in town. It first opened in 1️⃣6️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ and it’s still there. For over 15 years, a sign behind the windows read: “Not for sale or rent.”💰🤷🏻‍♂️ And yet, dozens, maybe even hundreds of people dropped a note in the mailbox, hoping to take over the legendary Amsterdam café Brandon. Amsterdam_XXX“De Vier Heemskinderen brug” (the vier heemskinderen bridge), also called the “Vier Heemskinderen” Lock, is a fixed bridge in the old town. 🌉 It sits along the western quay of the Herengracht, crossing the Leidsegracht. Amsterdam_XXXThe “Nieuwe Amstelbrug” is a double iron bascule bridge, designed by Berlage. Amsterdam_XXX“De Piramides” (the pyramids) is a residential complex on Jan van Galenstraat. Designed by S. Soeters and fully finished in 2006. In this frame you’re looking at the back of the two 50-meter triangular towers (housing 82 apartments). 🔼🔼 Inspired by Marcanti Island’s shape and 17th-century stepped gables, its brick facades reflect the Amsterdam School style.
