Gary Johnstone<p>I am in the process of removing myself from the very sticky web of the US Big Tech Broligarchy.</p><p>It's a process, for sure. I'm no techy but I am managing to disconnect from all the services where I kept, updated and worked on my writings and filmmaking projects. </p><p>I'll post some of the steps I took/am taking. </p><p>#1 Cancelled Microsoft 365 and extended OneDrive storage. Uploaded to JottaCloud and now I am running LibreOffice. What do you do when sent an ICAL file for example... at the moment I don't really have a way to deal with those other than open them in vim. 😅</p>

Timelime<p>Leaving Gmail is making me sad.</p><p>I signed up when it was invitation only, getting an address that was just my name with no numbers needed. It was useful and exciting and I still like it today.</p><p>But I can't support Big Tech anymore, Google or anyone. They took all these amazing ideas and used them in the worst possible ways.
