Alfonso AbregoAyer, 21 de febrero, tuve la fortuna de presenciar y capturar un fenómeno atmosférico fascinante en Besançon: un parhelio, también conocido como 'perro del sol'. Este efecto óptico se manifiesta como dos manchas luminosas a ambos lados del sol, creando la ilusión de tres soles en el cielo. Los parhelios se producen cuando la luz solar se refracta en cristales de hielo hexagonales presentes en nubes cirrostratus a gran altitud. Estos cristales actúan como prismas, desviando la luz en un ángulo de 22 grados, lo que da lugar a estas imágenes brillantes y, en ocasiones, coloridas. Este fenómeno es más visible cuando el sol está cerca del horizonte, durante el amanecer o el atardecer.
