Territorial behavior is quite common, especially in species that use sit-and-wait hunting 🤺 strategies. Males typically set up and defend territories that attract females with key resources like basking spots ☀️, feeding areas 🐛, and nesting sites 🌳 while also offering protection from predators. So, what's your favorite lizard 🦎? If you're not a fan of these scaly creatures, I'd love to know why! Personally, I find blue-tongued skinks super cool. LilyA beautiful lizard that I spotted in Florida during my last trip there. I'm extremely interested in the animal kingdom (mainly birds, just fyi) and this lizard really sparked my interest. I hadn't seen one like that before. After searching the web, I'm almost 100% certain it's a male Peter's rock agama, or Agama picticauda. It has become increasingly common in South Florida over the last few years. First documented in Florida in 1976, this lizard is considered to be an invasive species. It originates from tropical sub-Saharan Africa. The male is approximately 20-30 cm of length, while the female is about 9.4-12.3 cm.
