Climate Jenny 2.1<p>Everyone wants to save the bees, but when do you get the opportunity? I did today! A large collection of precious <a href="https://biodiversity.social/tags/nativeBees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nativeBees</span></a> specimens is being put into archive mode ASAP to protect against shutdowns. The local insect-loving community has sprung into action to protect these little bees from damage if they have to sit for a few months, or a few years. I’m just a <a href="https://biodiversity.social/tags/NativePlants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NativePlants</span></a> plant person, but the solidarity felt lovely. </p><p>Thanks, <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://arthropod.social/@theantlady" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>theantlady</span></a></span>!</p>

JL Johnson :veri_mast:<p>In case you didn’t know, honeybees are native to Europe. We brought them here. They aren’t “bad,” but they also shouldn’t be our primary concern. We have hundreds of native bee species here in the U.S. and many are tiny or solitary some are BETTER POLLINATORS than European honeybees. Native bees are just way harder to farm and control. <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/bees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bees</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/savethepollinators" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>savethepollinators</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/nativebees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nativebees</span></a><br><a href="https://mstdn.ca/@friesen5000/113771578909485020" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">mstdn.ca/@friesen5000/11377157</span><span class="invisible">8909485020</span></a></p>
