Jake in the desert
#NowPlaying (yet again) - Thought I'd talked about New York's WILD PINK here, but maybe not. Thanks to @jeffrey I was alerted to this killer record juust barely past when I wrote about my favorites of last year. 'Dulling the Horns' is an amazing album. Imagine REM, Tom Petty, Weezer, Bob Dylan and Billy Joel all together somehow. Pretty sure @HailsandAles and @wendigo will dig this one, maybe I've already mentioned this to both of ya'll. Jake in the desert
Wow, huge thanks to @jinscho for alerting me to Wild Pink, some great songwriting here- 'Dulling the Horns' is yet another awesome record from 2024. Kinda Dylan, kinda Petty, also has some Gin Blossoms, Weezer or Lemonheads vibes. Jake in the desert
#ThursDeath this week, I've been listenting to a lot of ELIMINATOR from NYC. Their name sounds kinda like a thrash band, but this is some solid deathgrind. They put out this 'Termination EP' in 2022. It rips. Jake in the desert
I love when a metal band's name perfectly illustrates what they sound like, and for this week's #ThursDeath, FOUL DECAY nails it.

Foul Decay is just one dude in Queens, and he makes gross, fantastic death metal. Alan Lewis
THE KENNEDYS RECORD RELEASE TOUR 2023

The "Headwinds" CD release tour rolls into the New York metro area!

After a string of packed houses in Peterborough NH, Bethlehem PA, Plymouth VT, as well as upstate in Norwich and Saratoga Springs and out on Long Island, we will play two shows close to home this weekend. This evening (Saturday,) we return to one of our favorite haunts, the intimate and "down-home" Turning Point in one of the most charming Hudson river towns, Piermont NY. The venue feels like the comfortable basement of an old Hudson Valley house, and that's exactly what it is! Food and beverages are available, and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

On Sunday, we return for a full show to the Village Nights series at the Washington Square Hotel presented by Richard Barone, right in the heart of Greenwich Village. As longtime Village residents, we feel like we're on our home turf, and we love the feeling that we're carrying on the vibe and tradition of the basement clubs that nurtured great artists in the past. It's like walking in the footsteps of the rock and folk legends who stayed, and wrote songs, in that very hotel. Originally called the Hotel Earle, it’s said that Ian and Sylvia wrote “Four Strong Winds” and “You Were On My Mind” during their residence there. Roger McGuinn, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, The Rolling Stones and more all were one-time residents, and you can definitely feel their vibes as soon as you step into the lounge where we’ll be playing. That’s the second of two very special album release shows this weekend, as the "Headwinds" tour rolls on!

From New York, we’ll be heading to the Northeast and the Midwest before the month of September is through. See you down the road!
____________

What to expect at our album release shows:

We’ll play a mix of newly written songs from the Headwinds CD, as well as your requests from across our entire catalog.

Many of our upcoming shows are selling fast, so get tickets now before they sell out.
