Ní SídachThroughout the 1970s I followed the art and expression of people who later identified or were identified by others as <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Punk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Punk</a>, many of whom were/are <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BIPOC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#BIPOC</a>, attended/organized what were later called <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/raves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#raves</a>, but never conformed to or joined punk social groups, and to this day, have never found acceptance by any tribe or people.Punk as a culture died for me because capitalism has a tendency to assimilate and mass commodify its critiques.
