Persuadé de ne plus avoir envie de rien tant sa femme lui était indispensable, il se laisse dépérir lentement. Dans sa chute, pourtant, une main chaude, menue se tend vers lui, celle de Thomas, son petit-fils.Mon Avis Une promesse est une promesse. Chose promise, chose due dit le dicton. Claude ne dira pas le contraire. Il a promis à sa femme, du vivant de cette dernière, d’écrire un roman sur leur histoire. Leur vie. Sans aucune capacité d’écriture, il a promis à Marie de mettre des mots sur une page blanche. Ce sera son seul et unique roman. Mais, ce n’est pas facile de couvrir des feuilles d’une écriture riche, en relatant une histoire d’amour hors temps. Devrait-il vraiment le faire? Par où commencer? Il y a tant de douleurs dans les mots. Dans son cœur. Dans son âme. Comment tout retranscrire avec des mots justes? Maintenant que Marie est partie, aura-t-il le courage de le faire?Pas facile de mettre des mots sur l’émotion éprouvée par un nom, un visage, une situation. Surtout, quand on est soi-même perdu dans une douleur sans fin. Quand on est en train de sombrer. Le récit est fait avec beaucoup d’humour, de tendresse, de merveilleuse tristesse. Claude nous dévoile sa force, sa faiblesse, son amour fou pour Marie, sa femme, ou pour Thomas, son petit-fils. Un petit-fils qui pourrait le tirer de la dépression dans laquelle il plonge avec une sorte de hargne. Le texte est très beau, très vivant. Un texte qui raconte un bel amour entre un grand-père et son petit-fils. Un amour renforcé par l’innocence d’un enfant de trois ans.Comment honorer une promesse quand on a une dépression sévère qui vous entraîne vers le fond, et qu’un petit ange de trois ans, qui, par ses facéties, vous démontre un amour entier et envahissant? Poser des mots sur une page blanche demande un esprit ouvert. Un esprit non parasité par des pensées morbides. Mais Claude a fait une promesse à sa défunte épouse. Il tient à honorer cette promesse. Cependant, il n’est pas facile d’écrire des souvenirs de l’être aimé, quand tout plaisir de vivre a déserté le cœur et le corps. Le seul bonheur qui reste vient de Thomas, son petit-fils. Un enfant qui lui réapprend à aimer. Mais Claude a il encore envie d’aimer? A-t-il envie de continuer à vivre sans Marie? Son petit-fils semble lire en lui et éclaire son veuvage de petits moments de bonheur. Pour combien de temps?
