Like gourmets they have very sensitive olfactory receptors to find tasty treats. Trachelipus caucasius is probably one of the prettiest and popular Trachelipus species in captivity, as well as one of the fastest breeding. I collected locally. This isopod is originally native to the French/Italian border but has been expanding with climate change, including south-western France and up to here in the Loire Valley.</p><p>They are very similar to Porcellionides, in particular P. sexfaciatus, and can be lightly powdery.
