I'd like to title this photo but I'm at a loss for words. This is a cliff ruin in Utah's canyon country. This was photographed from the inside of the ruin looking out. Clearly, the wall is cracked. Most of the sandstone shaped "bricks" are still covered in adobe mud. That's right, all of those marks in the mud are 800 to 1000-year-old finger print smears.

Bright light is seen through the crack. A few brick shaped sandstone rocks are seen near the bottom, but the majority of the surface is covered in adobe mud. Finger prints, that appear as grooves as the person smeared the mud onto the wall, are seen covering the majority of the wall.
