I wrote a retrospective of my time playing Eternal Sonata with my sons when they were young, and about how my own son's death happened while he was listening to music. I take a lot of solace in that knowledge. Music, and video games, are so important.
@prime INCREDIBLE read, dude. I went through a divorce too over a decade ago now and my son just turned 18, I never even thought I'd live into my 40s and here I am. Looks like you dealt with depression too- it's such a bastard. But yeah, my kid and I have played some magical games together, too - what amazing bonding experiences they can be. Things like this you've written here should illustrate that games are nothing less than priceless art, something that can bring a family together like this. Thank you for writing this, man.
