I've been listening to BTS tracks using the structured discography chart you were kind enough to share with me. I've been saving some to one of my playlists. It's fun, so thanks for that!
One song that has particularly piqued my interest is "Pied Piper". It's a pop song about the artists themselves and perhaps pop culture in general; I found it particularly interesting that it at once (I think) celebrates the seductive power of pop but also sounds a warning note about that power -- all expressed in a good song. With regard to fans, is it a favourite, or at least much discussed?
@jemmesedi OMG yes .. Pied Piper is one of the precious ones. It's all at once a thank you to ARMY for our dedication, a warning about our obsession, and they might just revel a little bit in how beloved they are too.
There are lots of breakdowns of the LY album for its storytelling. This is a pretty good take on Pied Piper.

Thanks! Looks like a LOONAverse degree of complexity here.
@jemmesedi I think you have to watch the Dimple and Pied Piper performance at 5th Muster to understand how truly delulu ARMY are about this. They send the vocal line out to reel us all in with Dimple and then the hyungs arrive on stage to help remind us not to be obsessed. Rude!
I vividly remember the first time I saw this .. mesmerising.

@jemmesedi And yes .. PP is on one of the series of albums that are part of the 'BTS Universe' storyline, or Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life) series. And of course, ARMY have written epic analysis on all of it.

How important is the lore/storyline to you?
@jemmesedi I think it was absolutely key to my early obsession. When I finally fell down the rabbit hole and learnt their names, it was because I was fascinated by the idea of transmedia storytelling in Kpop and how deeply invested the fandom was in analysing and understanding those stories.
I'd worked on a few transmedia theatre/art projects years before, but hadn't really paid attention to it in Kpop till then.
@jemmesedi Today, I still love HYYH, but I think my lasting dedication is to do with how well all seven take us on their musical and creative journeys. I'm as invested in the process as I am in the product I think.
Have you explored the lore of any other groups, or have you just done this with BTS?
@jemmesedi Yes, but not as deeply. A multistan girl can only process so much!
I think probably the other group I've read most on is TXT. Bookish Theories is a great source for them.
I'm intrigued by NCT's dreamy kwangya lore and know some of it, and I'd like to learn more ATEEZ's epic storyline, but that whole situation seems terrifyingly complex.

Excellent stage which I have saved -thank you! As well as liking the songs and the performance in general, I was taken with the black outfits.
