@daringfireball @daringfireball I noticed you didn't mention the oxygen saturation impasse that continues with the Apple Watch. I may be alone in caring about this so much? It seems disdainful to me of Apple to have for years now assumed a patience on behalf of their customers as a bargaining chip in a trial where I would bet dollars to donuts they have to some degree violated Masimo. Regardless, they have violated a trust with me as a customer. To this day I cannot be get the battery swapped in my Apple Watch (and it needs it) without having the oxygen app disabled. I don't want to be ensnared in their high level, cut-throat business dealings or games of chicken. They say you don't want to see what happens in the sausage factory. I feel this negotiating stance they are taking is putting me square in the middle of the sausage factory and gaslighting by omission about it. At least when cable TV companies and local networks got into these stand-offs where a channel would be removed if a deal wasn't reached they'd say *something*. Apple is radio silent. I know you were focusing on the new Watch, but even presumably that one is still shipping with the oxygen sensor in the US, as it is in the rest of the world, but just disabled here. It just seems odd both that Apple is willing to do this to their customers instead of cutting a deal, but also that there isn't more coverage/protest. How does a tentpole feature just go unmentioned when it disappears?
