59 years since the premiere of 'Batman' on January 12, 1966. Both the comics and film and TV adaptations have come a long way since then, but there will always be something really special about the campiness and heart of the Adam West show.

The Batman TV series premiered on ABC starring Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin. The first episode, "Hi Diddle Riddle," pitted the Dynamic Duo against the self-styled 'Count of Conundrums,' the Riddler (Frank Gorshin).
