"...including CC videos." That's pretty fucked up and probably the most fucked up thing YouTube has done so far since the war on adblockers.

This will, as usual, also affect YouTube frontend alternatives such as Invidious and Poke.

I fucking hate #DRM/exclusives.
A #Music artist released an album in 2013: Regular CD, Bonus CD, Vinyl, iTunes.
The Bonus CD, Vinyl have one bonus track - that's fair, and I don't mind.
What's infuriating is the fact that this group also added an iTunes exclusive track to the iTunes Bonus CD album.
And 12 years later, the extended iTunes edition doesn't exist anymore, and the track is basically wiped from existence.

And the motivation for this album? Social criticism of "growth at all cost".

So, while I'm strongly convinced authors deserve to get fairly rewarded for their work I also want to break free of the Amazon (and more in general the #DRM) mess. I'm tired of not actually owning the content I pay for (I can't gift a book once I read it nor I can sell one I hate). Whenever possible I'll buy DRM free #ebooks (kudos for those writers who make them available!), for the others I've come to the conclusion of still downloading from other "sources" and then buy the physical version >>

Nice artworks over there and quite many users. TY for the invitation, but I can't provide tip 'n tricks when it comes to the latest #ADOBEy software. Dropped out when they launched the #CC scam.

Doesn't make sense to me help feeding their digital art machine with young and sometimes very talented noobs. Won't make it easier for them to get addicted to (very 1980s) old, quite expensive, and bad habits.
Think it's better if I encourage young artists to replace #DRM #IP #BS with #FreeSoftware like #Inkscape or #Krita, but that's just mho.

I'm not sure how I missed these actually being passed and given assent. It's not a full repeal of the user/consumer-hostile anti-circumvention law, but between them they allow diagnosis, repair, and interoperability between systems. It also explicitly lets you do it for someone other than yourself, which is critical - existing exceptions have generally only meant you could break DRM for yourself, meaning 99% of people could never do it.

It's fantastic.

Just noticed that Redfox vanished. *me sad*

It used to stand for showing the middle finger to all of the #DRM shit.

Hope someone is going to pick up the fight and continues. Even without using it, it still was a pleasant thing to know that something like it at least exists.

I really hope someone will continue this mission.
