Man From Reno is 2014 mostly bright and sunny neo-noir centered in San Francisco that's a mix of Murder, She Wrote and The Talented Mr. Ripley, with a (dark) heart.
Heavy on dialogue in Japanese, interestingly, it's a story that takes its time and, fittingly, changes as it goes, never giving itself away, even at the end.
A very good movie despite flaws; I recommend 
A quiet lil thanks to the old #cyberpunk / #neonoir game Snatcher, from 1988.
