Power in numbers cannot be understated, as it is the foundation of #democracy. #PublicEducation cannot be underrated, as it is the foundation of the #sciences. #Culture & #Congregation is there to fulfill basic needs that all humans have. Take away this and the man never grows.

In a memo sent to top #PublicEducation ofcls across the country, the #Education Dept said that #funding for schools w/high percentages of #LowIncome #students, known as #TitleI funding, was at risk pending compliance w/the #Trump admin’s directive.

The memo included a *certification* letter that state & local #school ofcls must sign & return within 10 days, even as the admin has struggled to define which programs would violate its *interpretation* of #CivilRights laws.

What do people think of a lecture series on how government works? Does anyone know of any groups doing this? I live in a very red, small town, rural area and would like to make it as politically neutral as possible. But it feels like a good chunk of the populace has no idea how government works, how to contact your congressionals, etc. Please contact me with any resources or ideas, thanks!

OK, people, because clearly this needs clarifying:

The Big Blue Book is a WORKBOOK. You don't just read it, you use it to work on making yourself a better person.

1984 is NOT a workbook. You are not supposed to be using quotes from the most famous anti-fascist screed in history to bolster your case for interring innocent people in super-max prisons in some third-party country.

FFS I learned this in 6th grade. #PublicEducation people, it's value for dollar.
