Rari reviews "His Libertine" by Stephanie Lake, a Regency Lords novel:

"I rated the book five stars, because it’s a well written book with some good character work and an intriguing plot. If you’re into historical gay romances, you will definitely love this one."

A friend lived near Basildon Park, which played Netherfield in the 2005 P+P. I toured the home, and it was AMAZING. Since so much of the property was used in the 2005 version, the house had an exhibit celebrating the movie. (Basildon Park is NOT mentioned in the article.)

An interesting interlude in the history of corsets: the Regency period. The lady shown here is wearing short stays; she seems to be quite well-endowed, so she probably needed them for support, but interestingly this was about the only period of history between about the 16th century and the beginning of the 20th when you could get away without a corset at all. The fashionable silhouette was far more natural than in either the preceding Baroque period or the subsequent Victorian period.
