The Brain DJ is buried under a head cold.

I've just started reading "Willin': The Story of Little Feat" by Ben Fong-Torres (Da Capo Press, 2013), and learned that Taj Mahal covered a Little Feat song.

Gotta check that out!

Taj Mahal, "Feets Don't Fail Me Now" (1997)

(From the 1999 compilation of Taj Mahal's 1990's Private Music recordings, but first released on 1997's "Rock And Roll Doctor - A Tribute to Lowell George".)

Musical Interlude: OK, I'm giving you a whole album this time. As an antidote to the cold snap, I listened to this film soundtrack, from a neglected neo-noir film from the 90s, and full of blues music redolent of hot dry summer days. Featuring John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, and Taj Majal, it's quite an experience.

"The Hot Spot," composed by Jack Nitzsche.

Continuing the theme of "Things that move us" on Friday Night Jukebox with the thought that if there is nothing else, most us can still walk a bit –

Taj Mahal, "Cake Walk Into Town" (1972, as part of Playing For Change Band, 2022)

Oh yeah, a great song that starts about the 01:10 mark and just keeps going …

"Yeah, I think we can do that!"
