HOW COLD WAS TUESDAY MORNING?:

It may have been a few degrees warmer than forecasted, but #temperatures and #windchills across the entire #Northland were back to #arctic and dangerous levels Tuesday morning.

We have one more bitter #cold night Tuesday night, with the worst conditions away from #LakeSuperior.

The lowest wind chill readings observed in the Northland the morning of February 18, 2025, include 44-below in Hibbing, Minnesota, 43-below in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, 42-below in Grand Marais, Minnesota, 41-below in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, 40-below in Namakagon, Wisconsin, and 39-below in Fernberg, Minnesota. All temperatures readings are in degrees Fahrenheit.

Actual low temperatures across the Northland the morning of February 18, 2025, range from 4-above to 29-below degrees Fahrenheit. That is a few degrees warmer than what I had forecast the previous day.

An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for southern Aitkin, Burnett, Douglas, Pine, and Washburn counties from midnight through 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 (Central Standard Time). Wind chill readings in this area could drop as low as 45-below degrees Fahrenheit. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for northern Aitkin, Ashland, Bayfield, Cook, Iron, Itasca, Koochiching, Sawyer, and St. Louis counties for the same time period, as wind chill readings could drop as low as 35-below.

There is no other way to put it...it is #COLD outside.

Not even the #sunshine for most of us can help mask it as a #breeze is keeping #windchills well below zero.

Expect another very cold night tonight and Thursday morning, with #windchills likely back at dangerous levels.

Low temperatures across the Northland the morning of Wednesday, February 12, 2025, were all below zero. Most locations were in the -15° to -35° Fahrenheit range. The coldest reading was in Celina, Minnesota at -40°.

Some of the coldest wind chill readings recorded in the Northland the morning of Wednesday, February 12, 2025, included 48-below at Cook, Minnesota, and Hibbing, Minnesota, 44-below at Birchdale, Minnesota, 41-below at Gowan, Minnesota, and 40-below at Grand Marais and International Falls, Minnesota.

#Temperatures got as low as -35°, and we will see them nearly drop this low again Tuesday night.

At least very light #winds will keep most #windchills at bay.

The lowest temperatures observed in the Northland the morning of Tuesday, February 11, 2025, include 35-below in Brimson, Minnesota, 34-below in Effie, Minnesota, 33-below in Eveleth, Minnesota, 32-below in Cotton, Minnesota, 31-below in Embarrass, Minnesota, and 30-below in Nashwauk, Minnesota.

Other low temperatures observed in the Northland the morning of Tuesday, February 11, 2025, ranged from 9-below to 31-below degrees Fahrenheit.
