Pet to threat is a theory elaborated by Dr. Kecia M. Thomas on the relationship between the corporate world and Black women. In this piece, the authors discuss three persuasion strategies leaders can employ when faced with a disagreement in the workplace: the Cognitive Conversation, which is best for convincing colleagues focused on the rational reasons behind a decision, the Champion Conversation, which is best for convincing colleagues with whom you have a strained relationship, and the Credible Colleague Approach, which is best for convincing someone who has preconceived notions that you’re unlikely to be able to change on your own. Armed with these three methods, leaders can modulate their arguments —in terms of both content and presentation — to maximize their chances of reaching an agreement and preserving a positive working relationship.

Since I am in Rome for a couple of days, I decided to come to work at the Library of the Senate of the Italian Republic this fine morning.

The library staff is not friendly at all, but the place is crazy.

I was asked what kind of laptop this is, and of course I proudly replied: “it’s a @frameworkcomputer, you should get one 😜”

Axios survey of AI adoption suggests AI is causing power struggles between leaders and workers. Half of executives saying that AI is "tearing their company apart".

Less than half (45%) of employees — versus 75% of the C-suite — think their company's AI rollout in the last 12 months has been successful.

Only 57% of employees say that their company even has an AI strategy — but 89% of the C-suite believes they do.
