Sgt Nguyen Loan was my counterpart in #Vietnam. He used to tell me, "We don't care who wins, we just want to be left in peace to tend to our farms." I often wonder what happened to him. On good days, I see him running a multi-billion dollar electronics plant in #Danang. I don't like to think about bad outcomes.

#today sitting over coffee out and I get caught up in memories of Vietnam during the pandemic lockdown times. Managed to travel quite a bit in Vietnam in 2020. I would go to Da Nang twice. It's like my soul and spirit place. Normally a funky and wonderful spot for eating and drinking. In 2020, it seemed asleep. Waiting for change. Just so beautiful there. I love the city.
