The Dark Ages Cometh (back)

#Trump and his #arrogant, #ignorant coterie are doing their very best to destroy the things that do make America great - #education, #art, #libraries and #science. It is so feckin #depressing and I can only wish good speed to those who are doing their best to stem the tide and repel the infidels. I really never thought I would ever be making common ground with Universities such as #Yale.

The Guardian · The Trump administration is sabotaging your scientific dataBy Guardian staff reporter
"I Dreamt of Brighter Days", 2012

I continue to transition my #art from #deviantart to #Pixelfed. #AIhasDestroyedArtPlatforms such as Deviant Art for me. And unlike most other platforms, I greatly appreciate the freedom of the #Fediverse, including the lack of data collection, or the lack of algorithms dictating what we see, think or feel. #HelloPixelfed. #GoodbyeDeviantArt.

This is more of a #photomanipulation than a #digitalpainting - though there are touch ups. Originally, when I created this, it was meant to represent how I was feeling at the same, particularly during February, one of the most #depressing months. And now I reflect on how much has changed. Though I have experienced #dark days, I have also learned the value and necessity of finding meaning (i.e., finding #alifeworthliving). This can be anything from arts, nature, crafts, activities, hobbies, meditation, relationships and so on. Reflecting back on 2012, I am happy to say that life is much more bright nowadays. However, life would not be so bright without those dark days.

Now it's official. The biggest looser of the #CDU will become chancelor of Germany. Biggest looser of his party you ask? Yes. He tried to win against Angela Merkel, and lost. He then tried to win against Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, and lost (and she wasn't at all popular and a name you probably forgott if you've even heard of her). And he tried to win against Armin Laschet, and lost (and he wasn't at all popular as well and a name you probably forgott if you've ever heard of him).

But, as the German saying goes: "grease floats on top". And finally, he managed. Germany will loose four valuable years of progress, once more; but hey, at least the rich will get richer again.

And we can only hope that he keeps his promise to not work with the #noafd - let's see what happens, once the hard exploratory talks with the parties and their followers that he - just a day ago - was still insulting - will conclude. It's them - and only them - that he can work with in a coalition, if he doesn't want to break his promise...

I deleted my #facebook for a lot of reasons.

It kinda bored me, and I realized that I only paid attention to, and cared about the stuff people I was in the life of posted.

I could just see them.

Then also went through a #depressing and difficult time with #addiction where #shame and #fear just made me want to hide, and be alone.

Also had a stalker for a bit.

Said I would never make one again.

I am considering it to spread the stuff I'm making more.

Eh... Tomorrow problem.

[P] I always wondered if hiverarchy worshipped unmitigated stupidity, but the relity is far more perverse. It's a direct inversion between idiocy and erudition. So the researcher is a knuckle-dragging moron while Trump is a rising star, shining bright, whose sparkling, scintillating mind will save us all.

I want to crawl into a hole and curl up. Hopefully that's monosyllabic enough for hiverarchy to perceive as unmatched brilliance.

[P] Words are interconnected lattices of meaning! And that's really fun! See, there's insurmountabke. "Sir is surmounting the mountain!" Fun. It's also too erudite for hiverarchy, apparently. One can't be aught but pretty bloody glum when our future is one where hiverarchy attributes genius to monosyllabic... speakers...

Oh.

Oh no.

Trump, Musk, Bezos et al are geniuses to hiverarchy because...

This is upsetting.

Sometimes I complain about living in , but watching the Netflix show How to Get Rich has made me realize how bleak it has gotten in the US.

One couple has the husband interviewing for a job where the recruiter informs him they're looking for a "minimum" of 40 hours a week. He responds that as long as it isn't 80 hours a week, "at least not right away”, it's fine. He's got multiple children at home that I guess he's never gonna see again.

One woman is an Olympic gold medalist who cannot afford to get the hot water fixed in her condo. What a horrifying glimpse for the world in how bad life has gotten in the US that even the absolute best, top-tier performers, cannot afford basic luxuries like "hot water in your brand-new condo".

The expert spends a lot of time telling people that actually home ownership, which is impossible, isn't even something they should want. Instead they should focus on the things that make them feel good. It's just this intensely sad show about convincing people they aren't as screwed as they feel.
