one of the main reasons i hopped on the #fediverse was because of the mass amount of #existentialdread that i was feeling. i’ve been pretty disconnected from #socialmedia for a few years besides work, and i didn’t realize how #radical both sides had become. i think there’s a lot of real issues that we can’t deal with, but at least if the world ends tomorrow, i’ll have a #selfhosted instance of #mastodon and the other fediverse apps for me and my pals!

This article surprised me.

It lists & discusses...

  • The heat death
  • The Big Rip
  • The Big Crunch
  • The phase transition
  • CCC [conformal cyclic cosmology]

...yet somehow it entirely fails to even mention the most probable scenario of all

  • the seven-armed 42-eyed pimply teenage thingie currently running all this shemozzle in its digital simulation VM, gets called by its parents to come & eat dinner then get on & do its homework, so shut that bloody pooter down right now young thingie!

Waiting for the Water to Rise or The Woke Agenda

Some people aren’t people in some people’s eyes
If you’re not the right type you don’t count
It’s the woke agenda if you empathize
Waiting for the water to rise

Fuck all your feelings is what the chuds say
Caring just shows that you’re weak
If your colors not right or you’re not the right size
Waiting for the water to rise

Waiting for the water to rise
Up to our ankles then up to our thighs
It happens much faster than you realize
Waiting for the water to rise

When you don’t feel good in the body you’re in
When you don’t like the shape of your chin
If you like ladies or if you like guys
Waiting for the water to rise

If you’re not from around here, not safe where you’re from
Searching for a haven to live
And you look like a stranger in the townspeople’s eyes
Waiting for the water to rise

Waiting for the water to rise
Up to our ankles then up to our thighs
It happens much faster than you realize
Waiting for the water to rise

The monied elite don’t care if we live
Our opinion means nothing we have nothing to give
The water is coming you can’t ignore it
The water is coming don’t wait around for it

As the oceans get warmer and sea levels rise
And nobody cares when the animals die
The next plague is coming, it won’t be a surprise
Waiting for the water to rise

Waiting for the water to rise
Up to our ankles then over our eyes
It happens much faster than you realize
Waiting for the water to rise
Waiting for the water to rise

I am *this* close to finishing what should be the last draft of my next novel, which is all about masked professional wrestlers, the Mall of America, friendship, Orange Julius, and how grief is very rarely a straight line. It’s a departure for me, honestly, and it’s been a total pain in the ass to write. But the finish line is coming I think.
