The #alpacas & #lambs this chilly morning.

I’m guessing the #MudBrothers have been eyeing off that new truckload of #lucerne since it arrived yesterday. So I tried to frame them with it as I walked towards them.

Full of the joys of spring! In the Northern Hemisphere, the vernal equinox arrived this morning and we're now enjoying increasingly more than 12 hours of daylight with each passing day – probably my favourite time of the year.

When I fed the #alpacas & #lambs this morning, the sun was coming up & Chaser had an itch.

Back from a leisurely walk, a packed lunch and bird spotting at a local disused quarry. I did get a somewhat distant shot of a peregrine falcon, but priorities..

Well, Chaser was the muddiest last night, followed by Ozzie who was a very close 2nd.

Both look pretty clean now.

The lambs have decided to have one alpaca buddy each. Gone are the days of both being Chaser’s shadows.

The #alpacas & #lambs have had their water troughs cleaned & refilled.

They are now having some lucerne.

I’m still getting hit by the heat hard, but it’s only the first day on the new meds that *might* help with that.

The pics tonight are mostly just of the #Wiltipoll lambs.

They might be looking a bit round these days from their feeds. I’d prefer to overfeed them than underfeed them though.

We went out for a junk food #breakfast.

Got home to see that #Petstock had delivered another load of #lucerne bales in our absence.

It’s something like $25 a bale here now. The longer our drought goes on, the higher the lucerne prices go. It’s like a #livestock #feed stock market.

‘There he is! At our water troughs again!”

The #alpacas & #lambs watching me change their water this morning.

I’m not sure if their stand off is some sort of “you’re in our territory!” or “hurry up & get to the bit where you give us some lucerne!”

Very brown outback. Constant hand feeding now.

I wish it would rain on us for a change.

34° Celsius & I’m down.

I’ve been #hydrating all day, taking #electrolytes with some of my water, but I go outside, give the #alpacas & #lambs some lucerne, then water the #Roselle & #JerusalemArtichoke - the next minute liquids are #spewing (the operate word) out of my mouth & I lose all sense of balance.

Naked under the fan now, a bucket beside me if more liquid wants to rush up my throat.

It's as dry as a bone outside. At least there's a cool breeze.

The sun is starting to come over the trees to our East.

The #alpacas & #lambs are enjoying a huge serve of crushed lupins this morning. #weather 20⁰ Celcius & heading for a top in the low 30's.

My left knee felt good yesterday. It feels good today as well!

So I’ve spent the cool morning (21° Celsius) feeding the #alpacas & #lambs AND doing some #gardening!

Of the 16 #Roselle flowers we had yesterday, 5 buds have dropped off the plants.

If the weather wasn’t a constant roller coaster, I’m sure they’d be doing much better.

The #JerusalemArtichoke plants are looking good & are tolerating the temperature changes now.

I’m loving my new hose & nozzle. Beats a watering can any day!

Still cool & the boys are on the lupins, ignoring the Lucerne so far.

I finally made it out to water & feed the #alpacas & #lambs.

I hate it when I'm sick & they suffer for it.

Once inside the yard I threw bricks over the gate & fence to distribute the lucerne fairly.
