Fun fact: Kailh hat zwar mit MoErgo einen Exklusiv-Deal, aber sie haben fast zeitgleich eng verwandte Switches in Kooperation mit LowProKB herausgebracht, die sog. "Ambient" Reihe. Laut MoErgo-Gründer Stephen Cheng dürften die vergleichbar sein.

Hey #mechanicalkeyboard #battlestation peeps, I am really in need of a new desk mat and don't want anything flashy. What's the good stuff out there? Use it mostly to quit the sound of the keyboard on the desktop, so looking at something that will absorb sound well. May just grab a Keebmat for the KB
I periodically poke around the custom mechanical keyboard scene thinking I might give a design a try. I’m quickly learning it’s an incredibly particular hobby with vernacular I’ve still not fully deciphered. I’ve also learned that anything that catches my eye design-wise is universally sold out. Must be a heck of a business to sell keycaps… #mechanicalkeyboard

I’ve not found a comfortable setup for my #MechanicalKeyboard #SplitKeyboard using tenting yet - I think I’m too used to the high wrist wrest on my reverse inclined #Microsoft4000 (which I do not touch type on, which keeps my hands very mobile), and this Corne with MX key switches is too high - and with six columns too wide when inclined (center up, outer edges down).
Currently trying a low pull out keyboard shelf (never used before as it lacked clearance for the old keyboard) & chair arm rests. Might work - feels better for shoulders and elbow angle having the keyboard that much lower down.

Hab mir das #Keyboard günstig in einer Auktion geklickt und es 2 Tage im Einsatz gehabt. Komme aber mit den braunen Switches und den dunklen Keycaps weniger gut klar als gedacht. I’m too sleep deprived to tackle the diodes today but I’ve soldered on the key switch sockets. The footprints allow either direct soldering of the key switches or socket mounting. Using sockets allows you to swap to different switches. It also saves a tonne of money when building prototypes 
new mechanical keyboard lay out for new job. don’t quite like how the vim keys light up but it’s a start

@rootsandcalluses Still on my Filco Majestouch, which will *checks* turn 12 years old this year. I had to replace (solder) about three switches, the A key wore out (cherry MX blue) and two others succumbed to salt spray during use at sea (inside, but hatch open at anchor). Also had to repair PCB trace corrosion.
I guess in landlubber use it would've just taken the one key replacement, which is fine. Would recommend.

@fastfinge I briefly wondered if Vial would work, which is how I’ve been reprogramming my #MechanicalKeyboard. Vial is open source, available as a standalone app and as a webpage (works in Chrome), see https://get.vial.today/ - It is essentially a GUI to remap #QMK firmware keyboards. However, the interface is very mouse dependent (as far as I could tell), and searches on their GitHub repository gives no reason to hope it has any better screen reader support. Sorry.

Pre-assembled Corne #SplitKeyboard Tried muitiple #KeyboardLayouts Replaced keycaps Magsafe tenting (trying to mimic angles of old setup)
Replaced switches (current ones are a bit noisy) Reflashed firmware
Will I stop, or get a second keyboard & repeat… perhaps self-assembly next time?
Durch @qwertziop@procial.tchncs.de ihm seine Idee für eine #HomeOffice Hintergrund Atmosphäre bin ich auf die Idee gekommen zwei meiner Keyboards mal klanglich zu präsentieren.
Number 1 - ein #mechanicalkeyboard GMK67 mit Gateron Yello Pro (pre-lubed) Switches und ganz einfachen PBT Keycaps.
Also... runter laden, loopen und schon habt ihr ein echtes Office-Feeling zuhause. Demnächst kommt auch das DLC Kaffevollautomat und Hustender Kollege raus.
