Just got a SMS notification claiming to be from the #Michigan DMV about delinquent tolls. From a Philippines number.

Of course, Michigan has no state-level toll system. Or toll roads of any kind. Definitely not being run out of Manila.

When I was driving up the Red Arrow Highway to go to New Buffalo Beach in Michigan yesterday, I saw a bunch of adults gathered around a large Easter Bunny taking pictures.

A lot of the dispensaries on US12 were having Easter celebrations.

I also saw a SUV with a Michigan license plate "1." It was a standard plate, but I wonder if it was Gretchen Whitmer.

Ten days ago the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that those under 21 can no longer be given life without the possibility of parole. In the ruling, the Judges explain their decision is about brain development:

“Defendants argue that the mandatory nature of their sentences violates Michigan’s prohibition against “cruel or unusual punishment,” … where we held that, under our state Constitution, mandatoryLWOP sentences are cruel or unusual when applied to 18-year-olds. We agree with defendants and extend Parksto individuals who were 19 or 20 years old at the time of the crime for which they were convicted. … Late adolescents who are 19 or 20 years old, as a class, share with 18-year-olds the same mitigating characteristics of late-adolescent brain development.”

This will currently affect 600 prisoners, according to Bolts Magazine. and many many more in the future. #michigan #Justice
