I know that NIMBYs get a bad press - but newly acquired NIMBYs seem to deserve all the bad press they seem to be intent on acquiring. Fresh people coming into largely rural areas are to be celebrated - if they contribute and have some sensitivity to what is already there. Maybe this is just Norfolk, but if people tried to disrupt local farmers unneccesarily in the Scottish Borders (where we live half of the year) then there would be murder.

I am against this project.
Not for #NIMBY reasons, like house prices or the mythical blot on the land bullshit. No, my objection is that I just don't want to be tipping at that site, it seems both boring and also annoying to get to. I don't want to drive there, and I know my employers are probably gonna bid on the contract.

Eine Atommüll-Freundschafts- und Fossil-Lobby kämpft gegen eine mögliche Ausweisung eines Gebiets hier in Aidlingen als geeignet für Windkraft.

Ob es das ist, entscheiden hoffentlich wissenschaftliche und physikalische Faktoren (gepaart mit baulichen Möglichkeiten) und keine Onlinepetitionen von Stromverbrauchenden.

Dieses "Not in My Backyard" Mindset privilegierter (mittel-) alter weißer Männer hat uns dahin gebracht, wo wir aktuell stehen: Reaktanz und Verdrängung der Folgen des durch uns Menschen veränderten Klimas.

Sie sagen, sie wollen nur die Natur erhalten, aber weiter fossile Brennstoffe nutzen und haben ihr Häuser mitten in die Natur gesetzt und dort Böden versiegelt und Flora und Fauna gerodet.

We live in what has quickly become a very desirable middle-city neighbourhood (not suburb, not inner city). The city completely overhauled the zoning bylaw a few years ago, opening the door to very expansive missing middle housing options. Our 'hood has become a hotspot for this development, and now every time a new development starts, the community socials light up with "our neighbourhood is going to shit!" and "won't someone think of the parking!" #yeg #NIMBY

You lie. You enter a private property illegally. You pressure a homeowner to put it in writing not to remove a tree when selling the property. All is justified in order to save a tree. Right? Right?
