It's so weird, every match I got on dating apps over the past few years can only talk about themselves, and rarely seem interested in me! It's endemic! I don't remember it being like this at all when I was young (~25-20 years ago)!

I wonder..
- maybe people become more self centered as they age?
- maybe it's a cultural thing because we became more individualist?
- maybe the self centered people stay single because nobody likes them? 🤣
- maybe it's always been like this but I just never noticed when I was younger?

I'd like to hear other people who did online dating ~20 years ago if they have insights on this; is it just me, or is this really a thing?

I swear, a large amount of people don't know how to write dating bios. It's always just cat mom or dog mom or joking about how they don't have any pros to dating them or even just I'm from this state or country. Nobody puts in any real effort and it really sucks because pictures only go so far. I at least want to know if you have a personality. I'm talking about Bumble so ladies, please learn how to write better profiles. Reason I'm saying ladies specifically is because they are the ones who message first in this app. My profile is well-written but I have a feeling that people think its tldr worthy when really, its not that long anyway, but it is honest and concise. #OnlineDating must be a fascinating thing for those who aren't familiar with an internet outside of the corporate bubble. As I don't use apps like #whatsapp or #facebook for basic conversation. So I end up providing options to reach out to me, but these regular people are hesitant to try something they don't know. Most of these people have never heard of #discord or #mastodon but I share that info with them anyway.

I dunno. Chatting with someone on a #dating site is weird.
