想要玩 #OuterWilds ,但是我裝的繁中MOD看起來大有問題,翻成中文後比英文還難懂。
但用英文玩嘛,英文又沒好到可以順暢遊玩,一直停下來按手機查單字。
IT IS DONE!
The pattern calls for a navy blue border around the whole thing, but since I'm turning it into a patch for my jacket, that will be the colour of the zig-zagged edges instead.
I'm so happy with how it turned out (even though it's a bit crooked right now)!
Had an absolute blast playing #OuterWilds the past week. Charming game with an atmosphere and mechanics that I haven’t quite seen in another game. Highly recommend trying it.
Played some more #OuterWilds. An aspect of the game I really like is its portrayal of the inevitability of death. There’s perhaps no better way to go than in the all-encompassing glow of a supernova.
Over time, the line between life and death blurs. Sometimes you actively seek out death to advance to the next area. Sometimes you avoid it at all costs, scrambling to make the most of your time alive. However, most of the time you hardly give it much thought. It’s an interesting dynamic.
For the record I highly recommend giving #OuterWilds a play through. Just set the FOV to max because the default will cause you to throw up and it gives you absolutely no warning about that.
That’s my only hard critique.
Well I was enjoying #OuterWilds until one of the devs joined my stream and started spoiling my gameplay
I’ve been playing Outer Wilds lately and I must say it is absolute treasure of a game.
Just everything about it fits so nicely together. An intriguing story arc with charismatic characters. Realistic orbital mechanics play out as you clumsily navigate space. Machines cobbled together using wood and sheet metal scraps. Roasting marshmallows over a campfire on the surface of distant planets. There’s a bit of whimsy to everything.
The End Times is such a beautiful mechanic. When the tune begins, you know your time is close. The pause of time while translating glyphs no longer works. The music marches forward like the march of time itself. You can frantically attempt to gather as much info you can before the inevitable, or you can choose to relax. Either way the result is the same.
The calm indifference of the End Times echoes that of the nature of the cosmos. Everything that is wasn’t put there for a reason. To make sense of it in that way would be to cast our own beliefs upon that which holds none. To believe that we’ve somehow been wronged is completely misplaced.
Everything just is. We are simply here to be. What we learn along the way enriches us. Like the stars we gaze up upon we cast light upon the darkness and dance our little dance. When the song ends, it need not be tragic nor hostile. It just is. It’s a fact of life and how we choose to deal with it is a part of what makes us who we are. To see that captured in a game is beyond satisfying.
It’s exactly this sort of stuff that makes astronomy such a deeply satisfying hobby of mine.
I'm relaunching Outer Wilds, because a friend of mine VERY STRONGLY advised me to give it another chance.
The first time, I played it for about ten minutes before abandoning it.
Now I'm at one hour and still don't understand what's good about it :S
Still trying more.

I don't think I could fit more embroidery on this without it looking crowded (also my fingers hurt), so I'm officially calling it done!
Here is my traditional "skirt sack" with a modern video game twist. Normally they have their own ribbon ties, but I opted for a wide loop instead so I can attach it to any belt I want.
I'm very happy with it even if my embroidery skills aren't very good yet.
Take a rest.
Look up at the stars.
Burn a marshmallow.
If you fail today, you can always try again tomorrow.
I made a thing!
What I have learned from making this is that embroidering on felt is a pain in the ass (and fingers) and that tissue paper is absolutely terrible as a guide if you're doing anything detailed because it keeps tearing.
Any advice on how to get a complex design onto felted fabric (without having to buy expensive supplies) would be greatly appreciated.
Already tried tracing paper and tissue paper.
