This album definitely has that old Norse tradition feel to it. The lyrical concepts revolve around ancient Nordic runes and Norse Paganism, making for a riveting storyline. Partially recorded outdoors to capture the atmosphere and ambience belonging to each of the runes. Heard throughout are natural soundscapes, such as wind, water, and foliage. I was taken away by the creativity Wardruna took with recording this.
