During the 1st #cabinet meeting of his 2nd term, #Trump emphasized the import of the govt-slashing effort run by #ElonMusk, & both men doubled down on #Musk’s directive that #FederalWorkers reply to an email listing their week’s achievements. Several #FederalAgencies told employees to ignore the email, & eventually the #OPM said the directive “voluntary.” Trump also touted his #GoldCard idea that sells #wealthy foreigners #citizenship & claimed his 1st month was a total success.

During questioning after #Trump’s #cabinet meeting, #Health Secy #RFKJr, a #vaccine critic, said the government was closely watching the #measles outbreak across #Texas. He said measles outbreaks occur every year.

[not at this scale & rate in the US, not before the outbreak of the #ConspiracyTheory #propaganda from idiots like Kennedy]

@Nonilex RFK Jr., the anti-vaxxer who now heads the Department of Health and Human Services, today: what's happening in Texas "is not unusual... We have measles outbreaks every year."

@msbellows @Nonilex I don't suppose you downloaded that....

@msbellows @Nonilex The page, the data file, any linked data. It's likely not too long before that link is dead. I figure if it's worth tooting, it's worth keeping.

Anything that can be used to refute the statements of the numbskull in charge is a vulnerability they're going to close.

@janisf @Nonilex Ah, gotcha. I guess I'm trusting the Internet Archive for that. But you're right!

@msbellows @Nonilex Any visible centralized entity housing that will also be, at least, under attack. I dunno, maybe little bits here & there won't be useful, really, but it seems to make ethical sense to me for each of us to make sure each of our opuses, whatever we put out there, is independent and can be reconstructed.

I love the Freakonomics closing tag line, "Take care of yourself, and if you can, someone else, too." Boundaries are necessary.

If you love the data, keep a copy.
