Finally at the prelim mixing stage. Did a chill original song to mellow out with all the global weirdness going on. Guitar is Danelectro 59 (picking track panned hard left and strumming hard right). P-bass, keys, drums and main vocal up the middle. Two chorus backing vocal tracks, one hard left and one right. Still gotta chill some sibilants, fix some cymbal artifacts and mix. Having fun and trying to stay sane in the basement at the end of the day. #music #recording #guitar #songwriting #gearsquad
@strayhorse aw it’s nice and a bit wistful. Happy to hear others are enjoying their end of day music time as well.
@NigelTufnel Thanks! Yeah, kinda reflective. Stream of consciousness writing. A bunch of happy stuff with a bit of reality. Good therapy!
@strayhorse it really is therapy, isn’t it? I feel a kinship to your basement music time at the end of the day. Saturday is usually my night to turn up the amps and record some tracks.
@NigelTufnel Woohoo, and it’s Saturday! Have a great session.
@strayhorse I love the sentiment and mellowness of this. :) Making me think about writing something from a thankful perspective.
@ashnoodle Thanks!
@strayhorse
That's coming along great! Just a suggestion on the mix, the main guitar riff seems to over power the vocals just a tiny bit
Sounding good Eric kudos
@Denny Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback. I’ve already lowered the keys significantly too, especially in the intro. I’ll play with the guitar levels tonight too. The seemingly endless mixing process. So many options and variables!
@strayhorse
It's so true , sometimes I think that laying & layering the tracks is the easy part, mixing & mastering is a study all It's own
