Some pictures from probably the coolest cycling day this year so far. Last Saturday me and my partner did our long planned "best cafes of Helsinki" cycling tour. What could be better than riding a bike in some nice sunshine and stopping to eat lots of tasty stuff, all in some excellent company? 
I can't remember where the cafe list was from, some list of top rated cafes according to some survey. From the list we ended up choosing the following:

* Cafe Monami
* Cafe Ava
* Meli Cafe Bakery
* Maunulan Maja
* Cafe Tarina
* Mutteri Kahvila
* Cafe Regatta
* Cajsan Helmi
* Cafe Pikku Maria
The cafes "Rönttösrouva", "Cafe Amore", "Kahvila Rakastan", "Cafe Ekberg", "Fazer Cafe (Kluuvi)" and "Kahvila Sävy" we skipped due to the reason of "you can only fit so much pulla into you during one day", but also because we had been to these, and obviously opening times for one day.
From our route "Meli Cafe Bakery" was unfortunately closed due to renovation(?), "Mutteri Kahvila" we couldn't make due to early closing time and "Cafe Regatta" had a massive queue. To make up we added the "Puhuri" cafe in Lauttasaari to make up for those, from outside of the list.
I think my favourite was probably place was probably "Villa Ullas", it's a really nice location. Perfect for combining some savouries and a nice nature walk. It's also a Helsinki city owned place to support young unemployed people to get some work experience. I really liked "Cafe Ava" as well, with its central Kallio location. Apparently they may be closing at the end of March though. "Cajsan Helmi" was by far the most interesting, a truly old fashioned tea place with enough fancy 19th/early-20th century style decor one could use it for filming.
Unfortunately didn't take pictures of everything we ate. A part of the time we shared a single thing between us, to not be too overloaded on sugar and carbs, though most of the time we couldn't resist sharing two items 
This was obviously not the cheapest way to spend the day, but it was the most delicious one.
In total we rode 58km during the day. Included me actually dropping into the sea once before we even reached the first cafe Well, not completely dropping, a plank was fully loose on a pier where we stopped for photos, and it flipped over under my foot, causing my whole leg to fall through into the sea. Thankfully my partner had nice wool socks I could borrow 
Leg is still bruised and sore one week after tho.
