87F inside the trailer right now at 4:30pm. Door and vents open. Not comfortable for me, really, but I'm trying to delay using AC.

Today's high in Davis was supposed to be 78F (I don't have a thermometer for outdoors).

Posting in case there are people in my region who are interested. I'm adding things to my sale list as I have time to take photographs and research/write info.

It's not even close to all the stuff I have. I have bikes, bike parts, accessories, furniture, sewing machines, etc. Will add them as I have time.

Located in Davis. Unfortunately I cannot ship.

This is not to say this is the type of rack or installation we would have recommended. We were not consulted, of course.

This is a "pilot project" that was installed after we lobbied, had meetings, called politicians, etc. It is in reaction to that work.

Done in a way that was meant to minimize and bury the work we did, and to take credit for it it it was successful.

But it is more accessible than most racks at UC Davis or even in #DavisCA #CycleParkingAudit #BikeTooter #UCAccessNow

@benfulton We have something here in Davis that was done in both an ableist and classist way - 2 blocks of G street were shut to car traffic during the early pandemic so those businesses could have outdoor dining areas. It was popular, so without any real democratic process, the city just ceded public property to those businesses. The seating areas are not accessible. There are two janky single-file temp aluminum ramps from the street to the curb in that whole two blocks. #Ableism #DavisCA

Suffice it to say, there are dangers to being around large trees, but I personally would not want to live in a city or suburb that doesn't have large trees.

What needs to happen is what used to happen - we used to have robust public horticulture that cared for the trees and maintained them. It wasn't just outsourced to chainsaw jockeys. If knowledgeable people in sufficient numbers and with sufficient resources care for public trees = lower risk.

There is a complex web of issues here and while I've seen the occasional article talking about things right after a windstorm, I haven't yet seen a newspaper or journal article that really takes on the complex web of issues in street/public tree policy in the US.

Maybe the arborists are more aware of what's out there.
