I’ve been sorting through some vintage DVD’s here, and found a funny TV series I’d totally forgotten about. “Sledge Hammer!” starring David Rasche as a mad Dirty Harry style cop.
After investigating a spate of serial murders of Elvis impersonators, the police discover yet another body and draw the obligatory chalk line round it…

A chalk line drawn on the pavement to mark the position of the body of a murdered Elvis impersonator. The chalk line is drawn in a classic Elvis dance pose, complete with hair quiff and flared trousers!

Elvis Presley - The '56 Sessions Volume 1

Not an album I would have expected to own, let alone play. It arrived as extra packaging with an LP I bought on line. Normally, such "freebies" go straight to the charity shop, but I gave this one a spin, and it is really quite enjoyable.
Issued in 1977, after but not (according to the liner notes) because of Elvis's death, it comprises recordings made in the first half of 1956, when Elvis was only 21.
